The pictures are of an 8 bolt rear end. However, the same procedures apply to smart tube rear ends as well.| 1. | First step in setting up your rear end is to put the set-up blocks between the rear end tube and the chassis. This will simulate ride height. (click on images to enlarge) | | | | | 2. | Next, set the rear panhard bar height. We recommend to start the outer panhard at 3" on the adjustable, 6 th hole from the top on the non-adjustable. Set the inner panhard mount in the 2nd hole from the top. | | | | | 3. | Once the panhard set, we can center the rear end in the chassis. Measure from the outside of 2X4 to outside of the torque arms. This dimension should be 11 3/8" to 11 7/16". It should be the same on both sides. | | | | | 4. | Next, square the rear end. Measure 9" from the front of the rear end tube to the back of the key stock. | | | | | 5. | We recommend starting both radius rods in the lowest holes. Set the spring rod at 3 1/2" to 4" depending on track conditions. | | 6. | Next, ensure birdcage timing is correct. See birdcage timing section for further information. | | 7. | We recommend starting with both rollers in the rear holes. | | 8. | The torsion arms at this point should line up in the center of the birdcages . |
